The author, D.G. Kamenetzky, Ph.D. has considered his latest work, Gaslighting, as a graphic novel. It is about a form of psychological abuse known as “gaslighting.” Gaslighting is a form of psychological influence where a person secretly plants seeds of doubt in a targeted individual, making them question their memory, insight, or judgment, often inducing mental conflict and other changes such as low self-esteem.
D.G. Kamenetzky, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist from New Hampshire. He has worked in the field for 21 years, where he has counseled children, families, couples, and adults through the trials and tribulations of psychological abuse. He received his bachelors from Brandeis University, after which he worked as a research technician at the Behavioral Science Division of The National Center for PTSD in Boston in 1992. In order to apply his studies to real-world issues, Dr. Kamenetzky carried out his Master’s thesis from Auburn University in 1998, which concerned children’s reactions to the stress of testifying about victimization from abuse, both in the courtroom and in officials’ offices.
