ABOUT THE AUTHOR
D.G. Kamenetzky, Ph.D.
D.G. Kamenetzky, Ph.D. is a clinical psychologist from New Hampshire. He has worked in the field for 21 years, where he has counseled children, families, couples, and adults through the trials and tribulations of psychological abuse. He received his bachelors from Brandeis University, after which he worked as a research technician at the Behavioral Science Division of The National Center for PTSD in Boston in 1992. In order to apply his studies to real-world issues, Dr. Kamenetzky carried out his Master’s thesis from Auburn University in 1998, which concerned children’s reactions to the stress of testifying about victimization from abuse, both in the courtroom and in officials’ offices.
Dr. Kamenetzky received his doctorate from Auburn University in 2001, examining post-traumatic stress disorder and personality profiles of average adults in the community who had reported histories of abuse but had not gotten into therapy. He spent nearly 20 years of running groups and working with individual survivors. After years of writing, publishing, and teaching seminars about these issues to mental health professionals across the United States, it occurred to Dr. Kamenetzky, one theme running across it all: the insidious problem of narcissistic abuse known as gaslighting.
Dr. Kamenetzky now brings his experiences from his private practice to author a new book series; a collection of short stories, prose, poetry, and original artwork that speaks to the realities of gas lighting. He calls it ‘The Gaslighting Memoirs,’ and it brings to light the horrific truth about gas lighting and the narcissistic abuse that fuels it. It aims to create awareness of how it could affect anyone.
